Post by j***@gmail.comMy mother worked for that school (actually a technical training center). As a child I visited this center many times. Why are you interested? The center is still operation as part of CANTV.

So sorry for this extremely late reaction... Playing with recently installed Messenger I just saw this (more than two years old) message for the first time. To answer your question, I grew up fatherless in the Netherlands in an atmosphere of secrecy and mysteries. Though he was married, my mother and he had become close friends in the late '40-ies when both were working for Philips - I was born in 1949. In the mid '90-ies I have found out that Jan Deketh is very probably my father. I then came in contact with family of Jan Deketh, half-sisters, nephews and aunts and learned a lot about him. I even learned about the educational institute that was part of CANTV. I even have a picture of the "edificio profesor Jan Deketh. Obviously any information that can give me a better image of Jan Deketh, who died in 1969 in Caracas is more than welcome and might be useful as input for an autobiography that I am writing. Did you know Jan Deketh personally? Would your mother remember him? What type of person was he? Questions like that... If there are some memories, they would be very welcome. Sorry again for this late reaction.
