Venezuela Warns of “Fascism” in Trump’s White House

Puebla, Mexico, March 3, 2016 (venezuelanalysis.com) – Venezuela hit
back Thursday at US lawmakers who have endorsed calls for regime change.

Venezuela’s foreign ministry condemned the US lawmakers, accusing them
of making “imperialist threats” against the government of President
Nicolas Maduro.

“The [Venezuelan] people reject imperial interference and threats
against the homeland of [Venezuelan 19th Century liberator Simon]
Bolivar,” the ministry stated.

A day earlier, lawmakers from Venezuela’s ruling socialist party also
issued a statement calling for the US to cease “actions against Venezuela”.

Venezuela Warns of “Fascism” in Trump’s White House
Maduro is a worse "fascist" than Trump. That has been proven.
At least in the US 80% of the population isn't below the poverty line.
The US has a working democracy. Venezuela not.

No arguments - Most of the American people have done what they have to
do; the right thing - Most of Venezuelan people have never done such a
thing, as a result the situation that they are facing now: no values,
poverty, not working democracy, no law and order just crap.

Sorry, yes.
Trump is an idiot.

Sorry: the system failed them. Neither Donald or Hilray were a valid
option. The US system needs to be opened.

Venezuela is ready to face reality. A fascist Maduro regime is denying
them that.
Abajo Maduro.

Trump may be an idiot. But, most of American chose him...
False. More Americans voted for Clinton (48.5% of votes versus 46.4%).
http://edition.cnn.com/election/results/president
Trump won on the "electoral vote" by state system. Not by popular vote.
The choice between Clinton and Trump was probably the worst pairing of
the last 30 years. If I was American I would be hard pressed to choose.
Note that "most Germans" once voted for Adolf Hitler as well. Even in a
democracy - always an imperfect one - an idiot can rise to a high post.
The one good thing about the US system is that the presidency is more
made by the team the president chooses. There other branches of the
democracy have a say. there again I feel Trump is not surrounding
himself with truly competent people for the jobs they get.
I am afraid we are in for a "moronic presidency" or a quick impeachment.
The latter and new elections with valid candidates on both sides would
have my preference.

Most of American States chose him. As you may know the United States of
America is a federation of 50 states, in which each state is like a
whole country - Remember the electoral vote system was created by the
funding fathers. Popular vote is not necessarily the smarter choice eg:
Venezuela.

Actually not. It is a republic made up of states that have a certain
autonomy but with the USA as a country having overriding powers in all
areas. The USA is no "confederacy". that issue was settled in the civil
war were "confederates" (from the South mainly) fought Unionists (mainly
the North) over the extent to which the central government could impose
laws on the states (see the issue of slavery)

Remember the electoral vote system was created by the
Venezuela.
Indeed: the founding fathers set up the system.
But the electoral votes are assigned by law based on census data (an
attempt to ensure majority rule). The last time the numbers were
reviewed was in 2010.
https://www.archives.gov/federal-register/electoral-college/allocation.html
The system of "electoral votes" per state is meant to ensure each state
is assigned votes based on its population (as per census). There always
is a delay therefore. The next census and re-assignment of electoral
votes will be after 2020. The 2016 elections were decided based on
population distribution of 6 years ago (outdated in an age of extreme
mobility). That is why under this system the popular vote can go one way
and the "electoral college" the other way. Note also that the electoral
collage tends to vote for the person that won the state, not pro-rata.
In some states that is mandatory, in others it isn't. A revolt by some
"electors" in theory could re-adjust the election result.
The electoral college and the "first past the post" based on outdated
population data is a flaw in US democracy. A straight popular voting
system with maybe mandatory voting would be better in my view.

I also feel Venezuelans should get the "revocatorio" which is a
constitutional right denied and manipulated by Maduro and his corrupt
supreme court.
